Important: Essential home visits

Except in cases where someone is unable to leave their home for any purpose at all, it is better for them to be seen at the surgery. The doctor has access to the patients full medical record and a full range of medical equipment.

Home Visits

Home visits are available for those patients who are Housebound and patients who are too ill to attend surgery.  To define a person who is Housebound they are not able to leave their home at all

If you require a Home Visit, if possible, please telephone the surgery on 0151 295 3434 before 11am, as this is the time when the doctors plan their rounds.  Please expect to be asked by staff the nature of your illness and a contact telephone number. The GP may call you before they make a Home a visit to discuss your symptoms.

You can be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
